Sir Hans Sloane Milk Chocolate Mini Egg & Cup

Today I visited the Chocolate Festival in Oxford (it’s also on tomorrow – 24th March) and one of the goodies I picked up was this milk chocolate mini egg which came with an egg cup. The Paul A. Young mini egg also came with an egg cup, but this one from Sir Hans Sloane is most certainly aimed at a younger audience given that it’s made from sweet milk chocolate and topped with white chocolate and a yellow-coloured egg yolk on top.

I can’t find it on his website, so I’m thinking it’s just a creation for this season’s chocolate festivals given theirs also one in London next weekend. Anyhow it’ costs £9 and measures about 8.5cm tall. The temptation with these novelty chocolates must be creating them thinner than the 5mm this one is. The chocolate might not be a premium one but its far better than most of the chocolate your children will be encouraged to pester for. It’s very creamy, sugary and exactly what young kids would want.

With the eggs were two crispy and colourful chocolate beads which made a hollow rattle as I picked it up. Perhaps it’s not my favourite novelty chocolate Easter gift this year. But it’s hard to match his hot chocolate beads which are fantastic! This egg, however, gets a ‘good’ rating.
