The Christmas sales weren’t even over and the Easter Eggs were on the shelves of Woolworths before we’d got our glad rags on for the New Year’s Eve!
A spokesman said “A Woolworths spokesman said: “We always sell Easter eggs as soon as Christmas is over as a lot of our customers like to be organised. We’ve done this for 50 years.”
I think it’s a bit more sinister than that. I think that after Christmas they’ll have loads of empty shelves and in stead of trying to fill them with other stuff for a month or so, they may as well fill them straight away with Easter Eggs! Just my views – I could be wrong!
But if you think about it in a bit more detail …
… before we’re done celebrating the birth of Christ, we’ve moved on to celebrating his re-birth – how mixed up is that? Woolworths really haven’t thought of the religious implications of their decision – I doubt its really a concern for them!
