I’ve reviewed hundreds of Easter eggs and one thing I’ve noticed is that all of them, to date, have focused on the quality of the chocolate, its “free from” status or how ethical it is. But nowhere have I seen any that actually tries to educate people about why they’re even looking at Easter eggs in the first place.
That is until the Church of England and the Meaningful Chocolate Company have joined forces to actually mention Jesus on the packaging – and about time too! How can 80 million Easter eggs at the most Holy time of the year not even mention the Second Coming?
But what’s worse is that it looks like the supermarkets will be shunning this religous Easter egg. A spokesperson for the Church of England stated “Despite the obvious demand not all UK supermarkets are planning to stock the egg next year.”
For those of you interested, the Easter egg will be on sale from January 2010.
