I’ve never seen one of these before and certainly have never heard of the company that makes them: Tangerine Confectionery Ltd – but they’ve obviously passed the Tesco quality control processes.

Tangerine make Butterkist popcorn and a variety of other brands so they obviously know what they’re doing. However, I did think they could do with a better design for the packaging as they’ve got to compete next to the well-known brands like Mars and Galaxy mini eggs on the same shelf – it didn’t really stand out enough. However, I’m sure they’ll still sell tonnes of them this Easter.

I’m not sure if they produce their own chocolate, but it did have the aroma of a less punchy Galaxy bar, I could be wrong. But it tasted pretty good, it’s obviously not at the gourmet end of the market and I’m sure that kids will love them.

When you actually taste the chocolate with the marshmallow it actually is fantastic, it’s got the right balance of sweetness and textures. I’d certainly recommend it for a light Easter egg. Actually I’m very surprised how well they taste – If my nieces and nephews lived in the UK I’d definitely be getting them some of these, especially as the girls love everything to do with Princesses and fairies.

Another thing that you may be interested in is that their Marshmallows are 100% fat and gluten free, and they’re halal approved. I’m hopefully going to get some more information about the Princess Easter egg.

Easter Eggs Review: 8/10 – great taste, great prices, I just wish there was more in the Princess product range.
