Hand Made Organic White Chocolate Easter Egg With Blueberry and Cranberry

Chris from House of Fraser organised for some Easter eggs to be sent on to me to review. Firstly, when they did arrive, they could hardly fit through the door. And secondly, House of Fraser don’t sell them all, but they’re actually all made by The Chocolate Alchemist. Well as I had a few of them to review, I asked Beeze who follows this site on Twitter to create an order for me to review them in. First up there was the Rocococo Easter egg, and now this white chocolate one.

The issue I’ve got is that I can’t find the Organic White Chocolate Easter Egg With Blueberry and Cranberry on the House of Fraser site or even the Chocolate Alchemist one, I can’t find them anywhere on the internet! Does that mean I’ve got one of a kind? Probably not, if you really wanted this one then give them a call on 01798 860 995. The other jewelled Easter eggs cost £7.50 for this size, so I’m sure they’ll be about the same.

It reminds me of one of the white chocolate Easter eggs from Tesco I reviewed last year (but can’t find the review now! That one was also covered in blueberries and the girls in the office just loved it.

This one had a very mild white chocolate taste, it wasn’t anywhere near as sweet as the Milky Bar Easter egg that I reviewed last month. This one was perfectly edible and delicious. The blueberries and cranberries gave it a delightful counterbalance the mild flavour of the chocolate. Whilst the aroma of the chocolate was very milky – that’s as good as I could describe it. If I haven’t already over-dosed on chocolate today I would have eaten a lot more of it – that and I’ve promised to give the majority of it to a friend tomorrow. I’ll try and get her to review it too.

The chocolate with the fruit on was very thick, elsewhere it was kind of thin, but over all it all averages out to be enough white chocolate to satisfy even the most ardent of white chocolate fans!

Easter Eggs Rating: 7/10 – its nice to have a relatively original Easter egg that balances tastes, aromas and textures without becoming a cliché. And at £7.50 it is a very good price too.

I’ve seen this for sale in House of Fraser stores, so if you want one, pop into your local store.

I am said 'friend' & as a total white chocolate addict let me tell you this takes some beating! I was still on cloud 9 over the fact that lindt have introduced white chocolate bunnies to their collection this year…..(am on my 3rd LARGE one already & it's not even easter)……when the lovely lee deposited the chocolate alchemist egg on my desk.
The chocolate is sooo thick, not at all sickly & the blueberries/cranberries are just tart enough to prove a winning combination. Shame i'm supposed to be on a diet before my november wedding!! In short LOVE IT!!! ***
