Green & Blacks Maya Gold Organic Easter Egg

The first thing about the Green & Blacks Maya Gold Organic Easter Egg from Ethical Superstore is that it’s in a very nice “box”, when you open it up you’ll also notice that they’ve been very “light” on the packaging – no unnecessary plastic stuff here.

Another nice feature is that gift tag that comes with it where it says exactly what’s in the Easter egg – if they didn’t want to read the packaging.

When you open up the foil you’ll see a lovely dark brown Easter egg that looks totally appetising. The aroma is delightful and reminds me mulled wine and that’s not surprising as the Maya Gold Organic Easter Egg apparently has orange and spices in it.

And the flavour is just sensational as well. It’s not too sweet nor shop. It’s so good that I’m munching away on it as I type, completely forgetting that I’m supposed to be reviewing it. You can definitely taste the orange and the spices and is certainly one I’d recommend. Some organic Easter eggs can be a bit “rural“, however there is no farmyard undertones in this Easter egg. Another thing I like is that the Easter egg isn’t too thing, in fact it’s neither too thick. It was slightly difficult to get into, but I expect that’s half the fun.

Another point is that this Easter egg is suitable for vegetarians so that’s helpful. The minimum cocoa solids is 55% and it’s supposed to be a milk chocolate Easter egg, however, it’s not as milky as the Nestle or Cadbury varieties we often buy.
