There’s absolutely nothing better than when your wife or kids expect just a couple of Easter eggs and instead are met with a gorgeous wicker hamper packed to the brim with a selection of Easter chocolates and other goodies. Here I’m going to spend a couple of hours researching what sort of chocolate hampers and gift baskets the online retailers are offering and which I think are the best. I’ll categorise everything so it’s easy to find the hampers which are most appropriate to you. Obviously I’ll focus on the contents and costs, but I’ll also look at the delivery prices and times and dates etc.
This Easter basket from Hamper Gifts is a perfect one for all the family, but not specifically aimed at kids. It contains three chocolate eggs which might cause an argument in a larger family, but you do also get some Yorkshire Butter Toffee, some slow gin jam (hiccup) some fudge, pralines, a larger milk chocolate Easter egg, some fruit cake, olive and oregano biscuits, some dark chocolate coated marzipan and a box of chocolates. It’s also presented in a sea grass and wooden basket with some ribbon. And all for £34.95 plus delivery (£6.95 within the UK) it’s a sophisticated choice.

The cheapest Easter gift basket that Hamper Gifts sell is one for £19.95 that also contains some goodies – most of which are in the hamper detailed above. You can also get an Easter Tower which has four boxes layered on top of another – each smaller than the one below. You’ll get some mini eggs, nuts and seeds, a flapjack, some choc mousses, more of those biscuits, tomato chutney and some more pralines. This costs £26.95.
If you’re one for red wine then you can get their red wine hamper which apparently is also their best-selling ones which includes some cinnamon twist biscuits, chocolate liqueurs, short bread and nut selection, amongst other items. This costs £33.95.
I love the Deluxe Easter Tower which has seven layers which contains loads of stuff such as cornet truffles, hazelnut pralines, cookies, chocolate covered raisins and loads more. This costs £34.95.
And if you really wanted to push the boat out, you can with the Easter Delight for £59.95 which contains white wine, apricot and cinnamon compote, three fruit marmalade with Scotch whisky, bourbon biscuits and a whole load more. Heaven!

To be honest I’m less impressed with the range from Clearwater Hampers as for £30.03 you’ll get a net of milk chocolate foil-wrapped eggs, chicken mallows (whatever they are), a 100g Easter cake and a fluffy toy chicken. They do have some other gorgeous looking hampers, but most don’t have an Easter theme.

It just has to be Cadbury Gifts Direct for hampers for kids as they have a wide selection including the Ultimate Basket which comes with a wicker hamper with buckle fastenings, and more eggs then anyone person could consume in a day – including the Wispa, Dairy Milk, Flake, Buttons, Mini Eggs, Roses, Splats, Creme Eggs, an egg trail pack, and some toys. If value for money is your thing, then this has to be the choice for you.
They do other gift selections for less but don’t come in a gift hamper, just a large cardboard box in the Cadbury colours with load of cut up thick card. It does the job, but doesn’t look as good as a hamper. They do have a lot of choice, so it’s just a case of finding one that matches your budget or requirements.
