Here I’m going to keep track of all the deals, offers, voucher codes of each retailer of Easter eggs I can find. I’m of course, going to collate what types of Easter eggs they sell as well as look at delivery times and costs. You could call this the “all the information you could possibly want to know about Easter eggs but were afraid to ask” page. It’ll be a mixture of retailers that make the Easter eggs themselves and those that just sell them. Where possible I’ll cross reference any type of Easter egg they excel, at such as dietary requirements if they’re great for Easter eggs for kids etc.

Supermarkets

 

» Asda Easter Eggs – Best for price «

As Valentine’s Day has passed and they’ve come out all guns blazing with ridiculous offers. Many of the eggs that may sell for £3 each in the other supermarkets are just £1 each in Asda. In the month or before the important weekend they’ll pile them high by the entrance so you can’t miss them. The choice isn’t all that great, but they are incredibly cheap.

» M&S Easter Eggs – Best for variety «

I’m massively impressed with the choice and selection that M&S  have got this year. You can buy some Marks and Spencer branded novelty eggs, some very interesting luxury eggs as well some foil-wrapped medium-sized eggs for just £1.50.

Tesco are the place to go if you want the bog-standard Easter eggs for as cheap as possible. They regularly have the sort of “buy one get one free” kind of offers as well as the traditional multi-buys. Don’t expect anything too unusual or unique as they mainly focus on Cadbury, Nestle, Kinnerton and Thornton’s Easter eggs. They have stepped up their game this year with some interesting sounding Chokablok eggs, but I wouldn’t say they’re the best place if you really want to wow your family. But if you’ve got children and on a budget then I’d certainly recommend them.

Interestingly Saisnbury’s at the moment don’t seem to stock any Easter eggs other than the ones that every other supermarket stock. They currently only have the one own-brand Easter egg which is a pink gift bag. Their do have many offers on but they still work out more than Asda.

I had hoped to see the C0-op do loads of their Fair trade Easter eggs, but at this early stage at least, they’ve gone down the cheap kid’s chocolate route with loads of Kinnerton Eggs and a few of the household name ones.

In terms of just Easter eggs John Lewis stock 65 different ones online, but they also have an extensive range of novelty Easter gifts as well as decorations and bits an bobs. Standard delivery is free when you spend £30 or more. Less than that, delivery costs £3.

The poor choice is only tempered by the fact that they’ve got a lovely giant Easter egg from Kinder that’s in the shape of a bomb and has a huge toy inside. Delivery is still good at £3.99 but it’s 99p more than John Lewis who has more choice as well as a more sophisticated selection.

I’m not overly impressed with Morrison’s to be honest. There just doesn’t look like a great deal of thought has gone into their eggs as they’ve seemingly taken most of the eggs that Kinnerton produce as well as a few from Cadbury, Lindt, Thorntons and Nestle. I might have missed them, but I didn’t see any own-brand Easter eggs either.

I had hoped that Harrods would offer an absolutely delightful range of Easter eggs. Although they do offer some affordable luxury, they don’t seem to sell much to get excited about. The highest priced Easter egg is half the amount of the most expensive one from Hotel Chocolat.

Fortnum & Mason quite possibly has the finest collection of Easter eggs I’ve seen from any department store or supermarket in the UK. Of course their chocolate is expensive, but if you have the money then I’m sure you’ll appreciate the eggs on Easter morning.

Selfridges are another very popular and high-end department store and they’ve actually got a good selection of top-quality Easter eggs, as well as some aimed at children and a couple of Lindt ones online – they have loads in store though.

» Lily O’Briens «

If you’re Irish and can’t get enough of Lily O’Briens chocolate and you’re living in the UK, or you visited Ireland and loved the stuff then you might find it difficult to locate their website. Thankfully I’ve had a look at what they’re offering and the postage costs and it all looks fairly reasonable.

Other

 

For those family members living abroad it might be easier to get a whole load of chocolate and other goodies and get them shipped worldwide instead of trying to take individual parcels to the Post Office yourself. What’s more, they’ll know all the import restrictions and will be able to handle that worrying bit themselves. Delivery prices vary.
