After Eight Easter Egg With Mug

OMG! Can I leave the review at just that? The After Eight Easter Egg from Nestle has got to be one of the best Easter eggs I’ve ever tasted. I’ve not even had lunch yet and I’m munching through this like there was no tomorrow.
The box got a bit battered on the way back from Tesco so I’ve used a stock photo, from that you can see the that the After Eight Easter Egg is most definitely a luxury Easter egg.
I was a bit disappointed with the amount of packing within side the box. I don’t like the plastic stuff, but I don’t suppose they’ve got a choice as they’ve got to pack a solid, edgy mug and a very delicate chocolate egg inside.
The one thing you will notice when you open up the foil is the very distinctive mint aroma. It’s not over-powering or anything, just like climbing into a freshly laid out duvet. It’s very welcoming and entices you to forget the chocolates that come with it, bypass the mug and head straight for the chocolate egg.
Unlike the Green and Blacks Organic Dark Chocolate Easter Egg the After Eight Easter Egg was very easy to get into, in fact, with only a little pressure it crumbles into pieces. The problem with this happening is that you’re more likely to finish it off in a few minutes. I managed to stop myself as I was just about to go out to lunch and I didn’t want to spoil that. With some other Easter eggs I’ve reviewed recently it wouldn’t have been a problem, I would have just left them.
The little After Eight chocolates were a bit too sweet for me, very powerful and very minty, you couldn’t have too many in a session I’m sure. But I’m sure many of you will absolutely adore them.
For those that are interested into the nutritional values of the Easter egg then here’s the information. One bit that was a bit high was that each egg contains 37% of the guideline daily amount for saturated fats – obviously your own circumstances will be different, so don’t over-indulge on them. Also its not dairy free so keep an eye on that if it’s important to you.
Easter Eggs Rating: 9.5/10 – I don’t feel you can ever give 10/10, but the After Eight Easter Egg is almost perfect!
