Cadbury Prosecuted Over Salmonella Scare
The Telegraph reports on the news that Cadbury will be prosecuted over the Salmonella scare that hit consumers - causing three to be treated in hospital.
The case is being bought by Birmingham City Council because they believe Cadbury is responsible for dozens of cases of Salmonella.
Each of the three offences carries a maximum penalty of unlimited fines and two years in prison.
Cadbury said in a statement: "We have fully co-operated with the authorities throughout their inquiries and we will examine the charges that have been brought. ... As there is now legal action pending, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further."
So far the case has cost Cadbury £20 million in lost sales.
